Tactical insignia
Tactical insignia
For police units, it is important to clearly display different roles.
Tactical insignia were created to make it possible for command staff to identify, for example, the location of a medic or a fire suppression team by viewing their backs.
Considering that police officers from across the entire country are often brought together for various operations, this makes it easier to maintain an overview.
Dark blue or black fabrics have typically been used as base materials.
Later, colored materials such as fluorescent yellow or warning orange were added.
The lettering is usually made of retroreflective material, typically silver, but sometimes also white or black and thus non-reflective.
These tactical insignia are generally attached using hook-and-loop fasteners, and the sizes vary depending on the federal state, but most often they are 220 x 220 mm.
In very special units, flame-retardant products are also used.
